About Krishnashray Foundation
Krishnashray Foundation is a not-for-profit organization working at the grassroots to create empowered, self-reliant, and socially responsible communities. Based in Goverdhan, Mathura (Uttar Pradesh), the Foundation focuses on skill development, sustainable livelihoods, and community development, addressing critical gaps faced by rural and marginalized populations.
The Foundation enables quality skill development and employability-linked training for rural youth, supported by mentoring, soft skills, and digital readiness. Through its skill development initiative, Krishnashray Foundation has trained thousands of youth, helping them access dignified employment, entrepreneurship, and long-term career pathways.
Recognizing that learning is a continuous process, the Foundation actively supports upskilling and career progression of alumni. Through a dedicated upskilling vertical, alumni receive structured guidance and financial support to pursue advanced training, higher education, and professional certifications, enabling sustained growth and adaptability in a changing economy.
In addition to youth development, Krishnashray Foundation works to strengthen rural livelihoods through agriculture. By promoting scientific, sustainable, and climate-resilient farming practices, the Foundation closely works with farmers, supporting improved productivity, reduced cultivation costs, and income stability.
Guided by its core philosophy of Power, Purpose, and Platform, Krishnashray Foundation continues to build inclusive, scalable, and sustainable development that create lasting impact for individuals and communities.
Our Origins
Krishnashray Gurukul is located in Jatipura, a small village in the Goverdhan block of Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. Our journey began in 2016 with a humble Silai School, established to encourage women and young girls in the village to learn vocational skills and move towards economic independence. The initiative was supported by USHA Sewing School as a certification and knowledge partner.
As the institute grew, we strengthened the quality and relevance of our training programmes through a partnership with ICA Edu Skills Pvt. Ltd., introducing structured courses in Accounts and Tally and creating new employment pathways for rural youth.
A major milestone came in June 2019, when Krishnashray Gurukul partnered with Ambuja Foundation as an implementation partner under its partnership programme. With over 20 years of experience in community development and a network of more than 55 skill development centres across India, Ambuja Foundation brings strong technical expertise, established training systems, and best practices that have helped enhance our curriculum, strengthen institutional processes, and improve placement outcomes for trainees.
Over the years, Krishnashray Gurukul has grown into a rural development hub that not only focuses on skill development and career opportunities for youth, but also supports farming communities. Through its agriculture initiatives, the Gurukul promotes scientific and sustainable farming practices, helping farmers improve productivity, reduce cultivation costs, and strengthen rural livelihoods.
